A Sick Week
17 03 2007Hello everyone! This past week, my entire family has been sick. The patriarch was sick (but went out during the day, as usual, anyway). The matriarch was sick (so much so that she didn’t go out during the day). And ‘the other one’ was sick (and didn’t go out during the day either).
But the ones that stayed home from wherever they go every day, were too sick to take me out on walks! They just wanted to lie in bed all day! That’s fine with me; I lie in bed all the time. But at least once a day, I need to patrol the neighbourhood for any suspicious dog activity. I need to keep the big black poodle in line. Make sure the neighbour dogs stay put in their yards. Check up on the lumbering labs and see how they’re doing. But if I can’t do all these things, I feel insecure! I mean, how can I possibly relax when there could be another dog just ready to trespass?

Fortunately, my family is feeling better now, and the weather is improving. Today, for instance, I’ve already gone walking once, and probably will again later on. Just to keep you all posted: There were two intruders on the block this morning. One a wiry cocker spaniel, the other a great dane. After a fit of fierce barking, they retreated of the beloved territory that I am in control of. It was a great success. A good day, after a bad week.
